Here are some tips for washing linen shirts:

 

Use a gentle cycle: Use a delicate or gentle cycle on your washing machine.

Use cold water: Use cold water or lukewarm water, not hot or warm water. Cold water is safer and more effective than hot water, and it won't shrink or degrade the fabric's color.

Use mild detergent: Use a mild detergent with mild chemicals. Harsh detergents can damage the fabric.

Handle gently: Handle linen gently while laundering.
Separate colors: Separate colors so the lights keep their true color.

Avoid overloading: Avoid overloading the washing machine.

Turn inside out: Turn the garment inside out to avoid rubbing with buttons and zippers from other clothes.

Hang to dry: Hang the item to dry without wringing. Linen dries quickly, so even if the item is washed by hand and hung to dry dripping wet, it will completely dry on a sunny day.

Avoid heat exposure: Linen will shrink from heat, so never put it in the dryer if you are not prepared for that.
